Styled Shoot- Bonnie and Blues Event Center

Styled Shoot- Bonnie and Blues Event Venue

I’m so happy I finally get to share this styled shoot with you all! I was a part of this shoot back in January and after four months of waiting, there is exciting news to share. Not only did this shoot turn out SO GOOD and the pictures are perfect, but we are published on the Colorado Wedding Magazine Blog and Online Edition of the magazine. I’m so proud of the work this team did and to get published is definitely a highlight ☺️

Now that the big news is announced, let’s take a dive into this styled shoot!

The day started early. I was scheduled to be at the venue at 10:00 am and the drive from Golden was about an hour. It was a chilly day but we were told to come ready for pictures so I didn’t dress that warmly. I also drive a Leaf so I didn’t want to crank the heater on the way there and waste my mileage, especially because I had to drive home. I figured, the venue will be warm and we’ll be inside so it should all be ok.

When I showed up to the venue, it really was stunning! The outside is a rustic farmhouse dream and it is nestled perfectly in the rolling hills with mountain views behind it. I hurried in to shelter from the cold and the inside was breathtaking. High ceilings, shiplap walls and a beautiful stone fireplace caught my eye immediately. The one catch, it was really cold inside.

The planner, Stacie, mentioned the heat was turned on later than expected so it would warm up a little later. I figured I’d get to work and warm up as best I could. I helped set up tables, decor and flatware. I met the florist, Stephanie who was absolutely amazing and she taught me all about what she does and how she arranges flowers. We finally got the shoot started and even though we were cold, we all enjoyed the day putting together this stunning shoot.

I loved being a part of this shoot and I hope you love the photos as much as I do! Like always, the vendors are linked below the photos. Check out their work because I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I love this venue so much. It’s big, beautiful and the overall feeling is perfect for a rustic, farmhouse wedding.

Staying warm on this winter day and helping set up flatware. Don’t you love the detail on the table?

I loved the inside of this venue even more than I loved the outside. It is bright, spacious and had plenty of windows to see all the beautiful scenery outside. The fireplace was a floor to ceiling stone fireplace that quickly warmed the space up well. The shiplap walls with rustic decor brought the entire venue together. I’d say this is a Joanna Gaines inspired dream 😍

One of the pieces I made for this shoot was this fun guest book sign. I love chalkboard signs more than anything and I think chalkboard fit the theme of this shoot perfectly

Another piece I made were these matching signs that went outside to go along with this old rustic wagon. To start, that wagon is AMAZING and when Stacie pulled it out I was so excited that she found something so fun. We set up a little cocktail hour for the photo shoot and the whole thing came together well. Small pieces of decor like the wagon and the signs really pull your wedding together. Don’t forget about small details like this when planning your big day.

The cool thing about this venue is that it has an upstairs lounging area! You can see the fireplace wall in the background and this little sitting area is perfect for guests who need a quiet place to hang out. Plus, it’s really warm up there 😉

The flowers for this shoot were absolutely incredible! Stephanie did such a good job arranging and picking the best flowers for this shoot. If you’re in need of a florist, look her up! She is linked below and she is so good at what she does!

This piece has to be my favorite piece I have ever made for a styled shoot. When Stacie asked me to be a part of this shoot, she said, “I have a crazy idea and I think you can do it.” Her crazy idea was a 10 foot long paper table runner with Miranda Lambert’s song “Makin’ Plans” hand lettered on it. I hesitantly agreed to try and honestly wasn’t sure how I was even going to put it together. I laid out the paper on the floor of my house, taped it down and was quick to shoo my two cats away when they wanted to walk all over it. I penciled in all the lettering, then with a sharpie marker, I went to town. After 8 hours on the floor and a very sore back, this monster of a project was done. I absolutely love the way it turned out and so did everyone else. In case you’re interested, yes I offer these on my wedding price sheet. I can make one of these for your wedding using your favorite song or your vows. This is a great way to make your wedding details sweet and personal!

I think the back of this venue is so sweet. The hanging lights and the beautiful sunset backdrop is perfect for first dances and cocktail hour.
